Dear All,

Have just sold my BMW i3 and i have a used Wokeby BMW i3 extension for sale.

It was bought in 2019 (460 Euro's) and it is the orginal reinforced glass fibre version (stronger than the current ABS version)

Fits any BEV i3 (without range extender)

I live in north hampshire, i would be happy to install it for the new owner (9 bolts)

Currently they have them available for £280 + delivery

I would be happy to take £120

Just curious if the half-axle made contact with the outside of your trunk extension. When I transferred my ABS trunk extension from the 2019 i3 that I was selling to the used 2021 i3 that I had purchased, I noticed 3 grooves in the front side of the trunk extension near the half-axle. One of these grooves is pretty deep, probably more than half the thickness of the ABS.

So far, there's no hole through the side, but I'd like to understand how to avoid further damage. Even though the lower mounting hole is almost exactly the size of the attachment screw, I pulled the trunk extension to the rear as I was tightening the attachment screw to maximize its distance from the half-axle.

There's very little clearance between the trunk extension and half-axle. I think that it's likely that a load that I was carrying at some point distorted the ABS such that the half-axle rubbed against it while rotating. Your reinforced glass fibre version probably resists distortion better than my ABS version, so you probably won't see similar grooves.

Ours was a Nov 2018 90Ah i3. Our wokeby boot extension is made from reinforced glass fibre, very stiff not made from ABS plastic. Cost £390 new with shipping from Germany, the newest ABS ones seem to be much cheaper (considering inflation).Being stiffer this likely helps it not sag and bow when weight is applied on top? I do not have any marks from the half axle on it.
