Thanks! Good stuff! Here’s the latest I-level versions for BMW ISTA. The i3 is I001.
I have no idea what the v4.0.x numbers mean, sorry. It doesn't seem to follow any pattern. Thanks! Good stuff!
Do you know the meaning of the V4.0.x numbers at the end of each i-step level?
The i-step level of our i3 is I001-22-11-550 which is just one level newer than the i-step level corresponding to my ISTA 4.39.20. I'm hoping that this slight mismatch would not have a noticeable effect on the performance of ISTA 4.39.20 with our i3, but I would prefer to have ISTA 4.40 or later.
Thanks for that confirmation!ISTA 4.39.20 was the last version of ISTA that didn't require an activation license. Luckily enough, that version works fine with our "now" older BMW's.
Does this mean that anyone who subscribes to the BMW TIS, even for only 1 day, would be able to download ISTA?And just an FYI, the BMW ISTA software is available to anyone for a fee. https://bmwtechinfo.bmwgroup.com/
Yes, you still need the hardware (ICOM) if you want to connect to the vehicle. You can still use ISTA for repair procedures and wiring diagrams without hardware. Thanks for that confirmation!
