Is it possible to reset tpms sensors yourself using completely new sensors (aka winter wheel/tire set with sensors)?

It's one easy entry in I-drive. The i3 seems to require that you drive longer than other cars I've owned (without turning things off where if you do, it restarts at 0%) before they are recognized. While doing the process, it displays a progress bar, but it is very simple to do.

To ensure it worked (assuming the dealership doesn't have a different method, they might), they'd have to spend time driving the car, adding to the labor costs.
