iOS versions of i Remote and BMW Connected are finally both updating in Honolulu.

The app is now working for me in Canada.
Over the last 2 weeks, the Connected Drive server connection appears to be down on many occasions. This seems to happen predominantly during mornings. I can only imagine that a lot of owners in Europe are checking SOC and preconditioning the cabin of their cars.
To top it all off, the previously solved problem of loss of session (requiring you to sign on, register car and set up your PIN again - I actually reported this to BMW i UK)) has come back for some reason.
i Remote has always been a pain in the neck to me, from both a UI and UX perspective. I do hope that the facelift in Sep 2017 will also see a review of this dreaded app.

Just had an "ET phone home" when iRemote reports the car is talking again. YEA!
