OK, this may be a little 'left field', but I thought someone might know the answer.

I set the car (2013 ReX) to charge in a TIME SLOT, which works fine; during the summer, I never worried about climatisation. Now, in winter, I still want to use off-peak charging, but the app only seems to allow this if I set a departure time.

But I sometimes want an overnight charge in case I need the car. If I need to use the car, I planned to use the climatisation setting in the app to turn it on, say, 10 minutes before use.

The problem seems to be I need to set climatisation to on in the car to allow climatisation via the app. But this then triggers the daily climatisation based on departure time. When I go to use the car several days later, the battery has drained 10-15%, I get the warning climatisation disabled due to multiple times the car climatisation had kicked in while the car wasn't used!

Worse is the fact setting climatisation in the app no longer has any effect, so I get to a cold car covered in ice and the 10-15% battery loss.

The i3's climatization implementation has caused problems as long as the i3 has been available. Fortunately, I've never owned an i3 in a climate where climatization would be nice, so I have no experience with it. You've been lucky with time slot charging because its implementation has surprised i3 owners as well. Software design isn't one of BMW's strong capabilities.
