My i3 have this warning and the scanner have this codes on kafas:
800AC5 Heating camera-based driver support system short circuit to positive or open circuit
E06C43 Signal invalid,transmitter DSC/ICM
can be the kafas camera defective, any idea, please let me know
Thanks

Do you know if the windscreen has been replaced after it left the factory? My understanding is that the KAFAS heating is built into the windscreen, so it may be that the heating element has failed, or it may never have been connected properly when the screen was replaced?

I suspect that the only simple way would be with an IR thermometer. The heating element is powered when (paradoxically, given that it is in the front screen) the heated rear windscreen is on. You should see a significant rise in the temperature of the glass in front of the KAFAS camera.

The heater is part of the camera module, not a part of the windshield.
That's interesting - I tried to visually inspect the heating element in the glass in my car and could see none - that would be why!

I confess I don't understand the logic of having it in the camera, because in my experience, condensation forms on the glass in front of the camera - I don't see how a heater in the camera can clear that in any reasonable amount of time. But then I don't know the exact way in which it is designed - perhaps the camera mount conducts heat to the glass?

My apologies, I was wrong. It does look like the actual heating elements must be a part of the windshield. I had read TIS previously and missed this point and thought there was a heating pad around the camera optics.

Here is heating on the wiring diagram. The camera module must provide the electricity for the heater element embedded in the glass. On my E61 the fogging sensor has the heating element built in and there is a gel pad connecting to the window, I must have assumed something similar.

Thanks - that's an interesting update. It explains the observed pattern of condensation that I see in front of my camera (i.e. it clears from the edges quickest, and seems to leave an "A" shape in the middle for quite a long time).

I fix the the heating element but continue whit the E06C43 Signal invalid, transmitter DSC/ICM code, what can be this code and if any person fix that issue.
