Can I put 20x5.5 rims with 195-55R20 in all 4 corners on my 2019 i3 (rims are the front 20x5.5 from i3s models)?

I got 2 set of 20inch i3s rims (jet black 20x6 and 20x5.5) and 2 i3, a 19 i3 and an 18 i3s. To make it easier for the future, can I put the 4 rear wheels in one car (the i3s) and all the 4 front wheels in the other? I will be using 195-55R20 in all. I just want to be able to have more options on tires and to rotate the 4 wheels. Opinions?

I don't *think* you can put i3s rears on the front of either. From what I can recall (and photos seen on another group) you're likely to get contact between something on the suspension (part of the coilspring?) and the sidewall of the tyre. IIRC you may be able to use spacers to overcome this (though I have never tried).

You can put 195-55R20 on i3s. No need of any spacers, just fits well. For i3 though I'm not sure, you have to try.

I have these tires on my '18 i3s, fitted on stock 20" wheels. I shared some info on one of my posts, you may check it if you like.

I think the question was whether he could put rear wheels on the front, not rear tyres. IIRC the wheels are wider on the rear of an i3s (5.0 at the front, 5.5 at the back?).

The question was asked 3 months ago, so perhaps Map40 already has the answer by now?

My local Discount Tire shop told me they had an i3 customer who wanted four of the rear tire on all four corners, using the stock wheels (narrower ones on the front). They said it fit, but it was very close. I didn't note if they were talking about 19"or 20", as I didn't want to try it.

My 2017 i3 rubs the coil springs in front if I put my 5.5”x19” rear wheels in front. It runs fine with the 5”x19” on all 4 spots, but I usually run blizzak tires and they are directional, so can’t be swapped right to left without dismounting and remounting. I can swap front to back with the 5”x 19 wheels.

the 19s have a different offset between front and rear. I hope you changed them, I know a guy that put the 19x5.5 in the front and got on i95, til he saw smoke spewing from the front of his car. LOL

I put 215/45R20 on rear and 195/50R20 Potenza S001 on my 2019S. It made a huge difference in comfort.
Did the tire change make any change to the car's general skittishness at highway speeds? (I know it was built as a city car and not a highway cruiser)

I did notice the handling was a bit squirrelly with the stock tires at high speeds. That is gone now with the new wider tires. I am also running less air pressure with these new tires.
Long distance trips are great now with better ride comfort and 4 gallon aux tank for extended range.
The only bummer is the price of the 195s on the front.
