    Alternative Mobility in Southern California

Heh, for some reason I am somewhat anti-franchise dealers. Perhaps from past experience. I prefer the Tesla direct model cutting out the middle man...ordering exactly what I want and receiving delivery at a known price. That may not work for the majority of the public since they don't seem to...

    Occasional Use Cable

jadnashuanh, it's a 3 prong grounded cord. Based on the reading from the kill-a-watt the extension cord I am using appears to be fine for the low and even the medium 120v setting but will pick up a heavier duty version to be safe. As a side note I used a L2 public charging station for the...

    Occasional Use Cable

Wow, thanks wayne325! I checked on the rating of my extension cord and it is actually this one: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Workforce-25-ft-16-3-Extension-Cord-AW62601/100661460 25 ft, 16 gauge, 13 amp, 125 volt, 1625 maximum watts extension cord. I believe it's good for the medium setting but...

    Occasional Use Cable

I use the supplied OUC through a 25 foot heavy duty extension cord daily. I forget exactly what it is rated but I did make sure it is higher than what is required on the cars medium 120v setting (might be similar to this one but mine may be better...

    Alternative Mobility in Southern California

Yes, the dealers only get paid when the cars they have set aside are used. Otherwise they will have cars dedicated to the program just sit on the lot costing them money. They are not allowed to use the cars for any other purpose. Because of this dealers will probably welcome participation from...

    Alternative Mobility in Southern California

I think you mean "Flexible Mobility Program". http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Vehicles/2015/i3/BMWi3RangeExtender/360Electric/FlexibleMobility.aspx My sales rep at Irvine BMW told me they were already participating in the Flexible Mobility Program. He said all I had to do was call one of...

Range: Can I make it 80 miles? What about 89?

Aw man.. Didn't think to warn you about the setup thing with the SOS button. It takes a day or two for them to get your info and be able to activate. The nav setup can take a day or two sometimes.

Good dealership to lease from in San Diego

Glad you pointed that out instead of me :) I too was not aware of the 30 month requirement until after I acquired my i3. No big deal...but it would have been nice :|

    Got it !!!

It's better if you make an appointment with MB and let them know what your interested in. Depending on the level of car you are considering (ie, a CLA vs an SL) the better your experience will be. I know it sucks but they really treat the 100k+ customers at a whole other level...at least that...

Have the dealer deliver the vehicle to you! I would imagine most would at no additional cost.

    Questions and clarifications

My other car is a 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 that unlocks/locks the door when you touch the handle. Didn't realize the Mega didn't come with this and being used to having it on the SL I really do miss it on the i3...I know, first-world problem :) My Mega i3 does have the LED illumination but that...

Good dealership to lease from in San Diego

Irvine BMW has extended their presidents day sale and are now offering the following: You may be able to work them a bit on that monthly. Mine was similar but without the range extender so it was advertised at $338/$0 down...I think. You will need over an 800 credit score to qualify.
