Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

You need to do diagnosis with ISTA. Otherwise you're just throwing parts at it and crossing your fingers. It charges because there's a charge board in the kle as well. If you look at the picture I posted there's a line that says the input voltage of the eme must match the input voltage of the...

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

There is no problem with the ISN. That is not the issue. Rex doesn't use the eme. The rex has its own reme module. That's why your car charges with the rex, but not ac power. All the info is in ista.

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

Replaced the entire eme but swapped the original motherboard into it so it had the isn matching the car. Haven't replaced the kle. It works fine. For my car the 29 seconds of charging is the KLE charging the hv battery. It outputs around 1500w. The problem is during this time the eme outputs 0...

Bmw i3 rex stop charging after few secondes unable to charge

I have the same issue. 29 seconds exactly. Something to do with the eme. Not sure what, yet.

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

Just to add to my OP. The swap of a bev eme to rex car seems to have worked. My car with the rex eme still has one issue but I don't think it is anything to do with the eme coming from a rex.

    EME swap, possibilities?

Just to add to the confusion of the various updates BMW made to the EME. There is an updated EME that still has the 3.7kw acdc charging board in it. It goes along the lines of car manufacture date 2013-2016 (early to mid) original design. 2016 - 5/2017 - Updated original design. The entire EME...

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

Well the other option from you is to sell the components of the EME. The logic boards aren't the ones that break, so supplying ac/dc boards would let people replace that board while still keeping the rest of the EME that matches the vehicle it was in.

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

I guess that is good and bad news. So you didn't clear the ISN from your rex eme before you put it in the bev i3? I think all the coding info is on the logic board. Swapping that will get around the coding and isn problem. Hopefully that is the case. Internally rex and bev eme are the...

    EME assembly

Just in case you haven't figured out what the black wires are for.. It's the safety interlock circuit. From bmw: 12.1. High voltage interlock loop The high-voltage interlock loop is used to protect individuals when working on or at the high-voltage components. Via the high-voltage interlock...

Rex vs bev EME for replacement parts

Hi, I've joined the i3 needing an eme replacement club. 2014 60ah bev AC fast charge only. I've found a rex eme. Part numbers are different for bev and rex models. Does anyone know what the differences are? I'd like to use parts from rex eme to rebuild mine though I'm not sure what the...
