What happens to i3 batts after 100,000miles / 6 or 8 years?

i3 along with many other EVs are branded on eco credentials. I like the new technology but how do BMW plan to recycle Li-On batts?

BMW are in talks with electricity companies to reuse the batteries to counter net-instability caused by energy production from alternative resources (PV, wind etc.). That the batteries are not enterly fresh is no problem when used stationary.
What happens after that. who knows ?
