Trunk lock not working

The latch mechanism may have died and you just need to replace it. Here is a video on this but it covers what happens when it dies and you can't unlock the door. If it is not the actual mechanism it may be in the wiring. There is apparently a connection under the headliner just past the opening that could be loose/corroded/faulty
