Hi everyone, new member here with a new to me 2019 i3s REX with 27K miles. It’s our first EV, and we have so much to learn, Bought it in Atlanta, and drove it 170 miles home to eastern TN. Used all of the battery, and the range extender kicked on, but made it home no worries.

I have downloaded the myBMW app, but it is only partially working, I’ll have to figure that out.

I have also purchased a set of 19x5 wheels from a 2016 i3, and a set of Blizzaks from the close out pricing at Tirerack. So now I have a set of winters to put on in a month or so.

I’ll be making the rounds of the different forums here, asking newbie questions!

Awesome! I just bought a 2018 I3s REX as well but mine is still awaiting shipping since I live across the country. I had the dealership order the official winter wheel set for me, I got 10% off which I thought was a pretty small discount. Are you going to put some spacers behind those winter wheels or try to leave it as is? I know the official set for the i3s has a different offset so the wheels stick out further. Congrats and thanks for joining.

The dealer I purchased from did not have a listing for the winter tire and wheel setup, and implied it was no longer offered. But once they sold the car, it was clear they weren't interested in doing anything extra, since they knew I was not local and would not be using them for service. So, it was probably that they did not even look for that option.

Welcome doppelganger!

The myBMW app only partially works because you have to subscribe (pay) for the rest of the functionality - https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/connecteddrive.html

Nice!!! The Fluid Black looks so good on this car!

I have not paid for the $120 annual subscription, but I'm unclear if I should be able to see charging details. I can do the lock/unlock/horn stuff but when I click into charging, I see no stats or charging progress. Is that only with the annual subscription?

Yes, that seems to be the consensus. For life you will be able to locate the car and send messages to lock, unlock, honk horn, flash lights, and climatize. But if you want information about charging, the status of the door locks and windows, etc. Then you need a subscription. I emailed BMW to see if they have a free trial or if I can pay for a month to try it out and they told me I can only pay the whole annual amount. I'm able to track my car while it is shipping, using the included free services, so that's good enough for me.

I have found the ability to check to see if I remembered to lock the vehicle when at a restaurant very convenient. Or anyplace where I was out of FOB range. Other than that, I don't really use it much but I do also use it to check the range.

Beautiful car! I've owned my 2019 i3s Rex for a little over a year and I have 29k on it. We almost match exactly! I choose to go for wider rims and all season tires. Just finished that setup so we'll see how the winter treats me very soon.

Can you share which rims and tires you went for? Any rubbing issues?
