Hey Folks:

Can anyone verify that the 2018 i3s BEV and 2019 i3s BEV have the same tire pressures of 33/41?

I have a 2019 i3s REX and the tire pressures are quite a bit higher...particularly on the front. For this car it's 39/44.

I'm curious why such a large difference?

Thanks
Hi. I have the 2020 i3S. Door sticker does not mention a 33/41 options. It warns me to never exceed 816 pounds. Ed

Follow-up on Tires. I only get 15,000 miles on the rear tires. But double that, or more, on the front. I'm not a heavy foot and I rarely use the brake pedal, allowing the car to slow with regenerative braking. I always drive in the ECO mode. 36,000 miles on the 2020 i3S and 60,000 on our 2014 i3 before we sold it. Old i3 was better on tires. Love the i3.

Remember that regenerative braking is putting all the braking force onto the rear tires alone whereas normal braking in an ICE car is putting most force onto the front tires. So while regenerative braking is great, it's going to contribute almost as much to rear tire wear as accelerating since it's the exact same situation, only reversing the direction of the force against the tires.

This is something we don't get with the US regulations, that apparently is common on European cars (I can't claim any first-hand experience). On the ID.4 forum, it's been mentioned that the Euro-spec variants get load-dependent tire pressure recommendations.
