I want to highlight the BMW i3 Owner's Map ( http://goo.gl/062w6r )that I maintain to show the global range of this fantastic car. As of January 2015 we have 830+ owners in 33 countries, all self-reported. Add yourself to the BMW i3 Owner's Map and share it with the world on your social media channels or blogs and help blanket the world with i3 owners!

Seems like a good way to let thieves know where to find an i3 to steal.

And do what? To me the i3 presents no value to the thieves (assuming they can start and drive it). No parts can be used in other models, every single one manufactured so far is still under warranty so no need for second hand parts. It has a telematic system built in so finding it shouldn't be a problem.

Vandalizing - that's whole another story, but stealing?

As soon as the first i3 goes to the body shop or needs replacement glass the black market will respond with cheap parts. First from stolen and stripped cars and later with low quality reproduction parts. That is how the system has worked for every other car ever sold, why would the i3 be any different?

Yep, completely opt-in. And my i3 came with locks & alarm!

Thanks to Tom Moloughney, owner of the excellent i3 blog (http://bmwi3.blogspot.com), for putting a link to the i3 Owner's Map on the home page. The Map is coming close to 900 listings & I hope this puts it over the 1k mark! List your i3 today!

Update: From Australia to Cameroon to Northern Ireland to Sweden to USA the BMW i3 zooms around silently in 35 countries.
We are slowly building to 1,000 listings. Are YOU on the Map?
