Im having issues with me steering its hard to turn left and right when i raise car up on jackstands and turn the wheel it to wheel lock kind of turns and jerks throughout the movement. remove the frunk and looked at the pole that attached to the steering rack and it kind of wobbles not out of control more like the pole isnt straight can someone else look at theres and see if the pole kinda bows out as it turns ? Hope I conveyed that right. I made a video but it seems i cant load it to the post.

thx

Hit any potholes recently? If there's any friction on the steering you really want to get that checked out as matter of urgency from a safety point of view. Keep us posted as to the outcome.

Hopefully I can post a link to a video I made, ideally the plan is to fix it myself I just have nothing to compare the steering to. At its worst it doesnt seem too complex to repair as the extreme would be to replace the shaft and rack and pinion which appears to be just bolts.

Our 2016 was getting a bit stiff in the steering . It was determined to need upper strut mounts . After replacing them , the steering is back to normal .

That's a good call. ;)

Link here to when I did the job, and a great video from Bjorn.

Thanks for the video

Bit of a thread revival here, but looks like i'll be needing to do the same. Was it a big job? BMW would have you dropping the subframe to get it out.
