Solar panel for air con

Just wondering if bmw had thought about a solar panel built in to possibly roof to power the air con on sunny days as the leaf offers I believe as an optional extra
Not sure if it would weaken the roof structure or add extra weight

The LEAF solar panel just trickle charges the 12V battery, nothing else.
