For years I've used the standard BMW Remote for searching and/or sending addresses to my BMWs. Now, as a recent i3 owner, I put this app aside in favor of the i Remote app. However, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to search for and send an address to the car. Do I need to start using BMW Remote again for this single feature, while all other features (closing, horn, etc) are already on the I Remote?

Indeed i Remote can't do it. I am not sure if the BMW remote app works. Alternative put the address in your calendar and fire up the BMW connected app. You can then select the appointment and the address. Still this is sometimes hit and miss. Pretty bad programming I must say.

The i3 app can only send charging point locations to the car as far as I can tell. I've had success using the send to car feature embedded in google maps, but not when running it from a mobile platform. I didn't know the BMW remote app might be able to do it too, thanks.

I'll try connected drive and see how that works. I actually haven't tried BMW Remote since I got the i3 as I fully expected its functionality to be part of i Remote.

The i Remote app can send address you have stored in your Contacts on the iPhone. Can't speak to other platforms. The new Google maps has a revised Send to Car function. I received an email about the setup process from BMW earlier in the week. You have to register the vehicle in your Google profile then it will work. Did it this morning from the desktop. Have not tried it with a mobile yet.
