roof antenna

I just noticed that the small vertical rod antenna (behind the fin) on the roof of my i3 Rex is missing. However, i still seem to get fairly good FM radio reception. I have read that the small rod antenna really doesn't do much in the way of improving reception. Any comments on this?

Looking online I see some after market rod anttennas that are suppsosedly BMW i3 compatible that claim they are better than the stock one because they contain more copper. Has anyone used any after market antenna rods?

I'm same as you, my whip was installed on my 2017, but I never installed it on my 2021, and for the past year I can't say I've noticed a difference in radio reception. Still, I ought to find something to plug the threaded hole.
