Need Help on a lease in Georgia

I went in to look at the I3 to lease at Alpharetta , GA vs the Leaf . I got a wild price qoute. They wanted 12k down and 359 a month for 24 months on 10k a year a OC program . they claim you get the 12 k back in tax credits when you file .

It was not a REX just a base with tech package . Lists for 51200 and had a discount to a selling price of 45872. He had the selling rate at 3.39 WTH ?

I see all the deals some of you are getting and had high hopes . There is no way I could put 12k down .In comparison I can put down 350 and pay 278 a month for 24 months on a leaf . Don't get me wrong the i3 is a lot more vehicle , but i just can't part with 12k .

Did I just go to a bad dealer ?

My buddy bought a Tera for 12.5 down on a 2 yr Owner's Choice lease for $250 a month and they threw in a L2.

I was not so lucky because I bought it on the 30th of Dec, and only had a choice of 4 cars. I bought a completely loaded car at $270/month with no charger and 12.5 down. (This is with every option available)

PS - This deal of 7500 with Federal is only good if you owe $7500 to Uncle Sam (which I assume you do)
However my tax prep person said that GA State credit of $5000 can be carried over (if you withhold a lot)

I'll find out in April.

PS - If I were you, I'd wait a little. Remember, gas is cheap, and most dealerships don't have many I3's on the lot (you'll find a ton of Range extenders)
Wait for a deal where they make it worth your while.

Correct - federal credit cannot be carried over, but the GA credit can for up to 5 years.

It might be that the $2K BMW Holiday credit on the BEV is no longer available. I'm not seeing it on the BMW website. The deal you were offered is way higher than anything I've seen, but the lack of the Holiday credit might explain it. For reference on New Year's Eve I got a Tera nearly loaded with a MSRP of $51.2K for $399/month with only $7500 down. OC 24 months with 10K m/yr. Be patient and work multiple dealers, including out of state. I've seen great deals from both United and Global. I assume your deal was with United. They are a great dealer, but aren't motivated to give great deals right now since they have the only BEV's in town at the moment.

Sounds like the OP did not get a great deal. I think many of the programs end tomorrow so hopefully we will see something better come Monday.

I have been actively involved in purchasing i3's this week . The deals are basically dead right now and they will be back when BMW updates incentives for January .

Was involved in assisting 2 of my friends on dec 30 and got one for myself on dec 31 745 pm (I guess last i3 sold in GA in 2014).

The deal you offered is no way close to what I got

2 i3's bought on dec 30 OC 24 months 10 k $185 (Giga msrp 47500) , no charger of course -United
i3 purchased for myself on dec 31 OC 24/10k/msrp 46900 Giga $159 no charger Nalley.

It appears none of the dealers in N GA have any cars left and they are waiting for new inventory

For GA buyers, only BEV models are eligible for 5k tax rebate.
Down payment is 12.5 K which can be claimed back from state and Federal tax rebates ( 5k GA state and 7.5K Federal )

Please note only OC or OC flex purchases are eligible for Federal rebates of 7.5 K . Traditional lease programs allow approximately 4.5 K rebate

I think you can do better.
Looks like few in this forum got similar deals but the deal also included a L2 charger
In the month of Nov , the APR for calculating the monthly payments was 2.99 compared to 3.99 in December.

I expect the APR to go back to 2.99 in Jan with even more aggressive deals to clear our 2014 models.

I am hoping for that as well. I am in no rush, and could even wait on 2015 if the deals on 2014 don't materialize (especially if they come out with a heated steering wheel...)

Yes, there is tax on both of these, and the tax rate is the same as it is on a lease. There are benefits to OC/OCwF when you trade the car down the road, though.
