Hello
I have a problem with Bmw i3. The drivetrain malfunction error pops up on the idrive display all the time. Because reading errors with the bmw service program pops out errors regarding insulation. (photos attached)
Do you have an idea how to solve it?
Thank you very much in advance
Regards!

Some one else on the board had similar error codes:

Need more information. What errors are being displayed?

Cylinder Misfire/Drive train errors in the i3 Rex are commonly caused by a defective fuel pump relay.
A fairly easy DIY fix, if that is the cause.

Thank you for your reply. I have a problem with insulation all the time. The errors are the same as before.

Potential screw on battery and EME checked? It has to have clean contact and right torque. Do it with HV system off!

models prior to 2016 had a moisture problem built into the REX generator
If you want to try drying it but cant run the REX on the road then maybe you can run it on the exhaust gas test mode:

copied from technical training BMW Group University - I01 Displays and Controls

tailgate open
switch on start and select "P" without pressing on brake
push acellerator and hold down
press brake pedal 3 times
release accelerator
press brake and sart button

REX should start as long as HV battery is <75% and run for 20 mins. Change the speed with accelerator
stop the cycle normally

But an insulation error might be moisture into any of the HV connectors / wiring. Even the charge port might be worth a clean.

Hello

Has the problem been resolved? I have identical error codes and I don't know what is causing the fault.

Alright :). Do you know how to fix it or how to start the rex drying procedure?
I don't know about a REx "Drying Procedure" but you can run the REx at idle for 20 minutes by running it in Emissions Test Mode:

Get into the car and close the door.
Press the trunk/hatch release button
Press the Start/Stop button (BRAKE NOT PRESSED)
Press and hold the accelerator pedal.
Press and release the brake pedal.
Press and release the brake pedal again.
Press and hold the brake pedal.
Release the accelerator pedal.
Press the Start/Stop button.

The REx should start and run at low idle.

If you press the accelerator pedal the REx switches to a high idle.

The REx will stop in 20 minutes or when you press the Start/Stop button.

Be sure to close the trunk/hatch when you are done.
