i3 offer in TX

I'm looking at a BEV in Texas. I was offered $43,395 on a $49,750 MSRP. The car is silver with Tera, Tech, DCFC, and Parking package. Should I push them for a lower price or is that pretty good?

We have a $2500 rebate for EV in TX, and I think I'm eligible for the $1000 BMW CCA rebate. Has anyone successfully gotten the CCA rebate? How does it work?

So 12.8% off? Elsewhere in this forum, people say you should be able to get 15-20% a 2014 i3 at this time. Not sure where those deals are being seen, but I have seen an i3 at just over 15% off in San Antonio. Try getting quotes for similar models from other Texas dealers, then ask your preferred dealer to match (or beat!) the best offer.

Yeah I didn't think it was that good of a deal. I haven't seen a great price locally (Houston) so maybe I need to expand my search to Austin, SA, and Dallas.

Can you let me know what you're paying for insurance in Austin? I was quoted a marginal $130/mo to add it to our policy (with a 335i and an X3). That seemed pretty high to me.

For the 2014s, discounts of 15-20% off MSRP on the coasts seem attainable. If you're not in a rush, you might consider having one shipped (especially if you'd still qualify for the Texas tax break). The selling-price difference between the same BEV in TX versus one in the D.C. area is more than $3,000. Ship the car, and you're still at least $2,000 ahead.

Definitely, get as many offers as you can for somewhat similar cars, even if some have features you don't want. You could get a better price than you were expecting and end up with extra features for free, or use it to bargain a lower price on one with the features you want.

USAA is quoting me $83.50/mo for the i3, which does take into consideration that I've been with them a long time and also have other insurance with them. Without any discounts, it's $159.19/mo.

The Texas alternative fuel vehicle rebate ($2500 if buying or financing; $625 per year up to 4 years if leasing) applies to purchases from dealers doing business in Texas only.

Websterize - thanks for the info. I'm in no rush, as this would be a third car for us.

Ryan - thanks for the details of how the TX program works. I hadn't looked into it in detail yet, and didn't realize the leasing incentive was annual. All the more reason to go with an OC + flex over the lease program then!

To clarify, I believe you get the Texas rebate "immediately" after you apply, but the amount of the rebate depends on how long your lease is. If your lease is for 48 months or longer, you get the full $2500 rebate. If your lease is for 36-47 months, you get $1875; 24-35 months: $1250; 12-23 months: $625. Anyone considering an EV in Texas should download the application form from the web site and read it all the way through to be sure you're properly informed.
