It looks like "i3"Day in the UK is Monday 29th July.
I was speaking to BMW Customer Services today (about the i3 ICE car loan program) and the CS rep told me that customer orders go on the system in 73 days time.
To do that I would normally expect to have a price and all the cost options before that date, Land Rover & Mercedes usually issue new car pricing info 2 weeks before customer orders begin but I’m not so sure whether BMW will do that with the i3.

Interesting Parker, keep us informed. It could be that you are allowed to pre-order it then without the details like pricing and options. You would give a small, refundable deposit and then conform the order once the pricing and details are announced. This could help BMW to gauge the interest and prepare for the proper production levels needed to keep up with demand.

Or they could offer you the details before hand. Hopefully the latter.

I think I’ve mentioned elsewhere on this site that I have ordered cars blind in the past (i.e. not having seen the car) but I think with all the unknown variables with this car I don't feel comfortable doing that with the i3.

Just the simple issue of its internal size – is it big enough? – no one has really given an answer on that one .... is the interior Mini / Mini CM/ 1 Series /3 series /3 GT or 5 series sized?

So unless something fundamentally changes I personally won’t be making any financial commitment (i.e. deposit) until I’ve actually seen the car and sat in it..... also as I may have mentioned I sat in a 3 series the other week and was rather disappointed by the quality of its internal fixtures and fittings (the 5 series was much more how I remember a BMW to be) so again unless the quality is there I won’t be buying.

Hopefully we get some real information during the next 73 days.

Hi guys, been talking to a dealer in Germany for the last few months and he was hopefull to have pricing in June.

That would make specing a car up a much more constructive process.

With Nissan Leaf's shedding 50% of their value in the first year (here in the UK) 50% of £24K is one thing ...... 50% of £40++k is another.

So I think spending enough but not too much will be the name of the game with the i3.

It is also on the 29th July in France. I guess it is the same all over Europe!
Here, we can pre-order the car since a few days (no deposit though) and it says that somebody will contact you a little bit later about everything you need to know.
I suppose we will know a lot on the 29th, like pricing, and other really useful informations!

I am so waiting for it!

.......... The YouTube reveal will start at 14.00 here in the UK...... configurator should be activated soon after.

I heard that the reveal will be at the same time from 3 different locations...

Is there a launch in Paris? ...... if so, are you able to get there?

Unfortunately, nothing is said... So I guess nothing is planned in Paris.
But I'll be really happy with the YouTube Video anyway! :)
Too many things yet to be revealed!
