I just assumed my i3 had the DC charging port. I had no idea it was an option. Oh well, level 2 is working just fine for me. I kind of just jumped feet first into my i3 without fully checking everything out. But I do love it.

Don't necessarily feel bad, look in your immediate area to see how many CCS/SAE fast charging stations (not Chademo) exist. Where I live in the entire state of Maryland there are only 2 compatible chargers (versus hundreds for the Chademo standard).

Looking at PlugShare app I see none in the Houston area.

Oh you are right. They really need to standardize more of this if they want the average person to accept it.
