Therefore, I assume that @holdenfamily meant to write "$0.17/kWh".

That was my assumption. Dimensional analysis was always handy for spotting errors in calculations.

I’m still hoping that $0.17 applies somewhere near me. The cheapest I’ve found is some municipal level 2 chargers at about $0.22, which is even so slightly cheaper than my home marginal rate of maybe $0.24/kWh.

Let us know if it works. I seem to recall a few others who have tried to change the default setting when the REx turns on and people said they could change the number but it didn’t affect the outcome.
It kicked in at 19/5% without a hitch.

OK I'm confused. My commercial charger rate, last I used it was $.48 (I heard it went to $.52), and my home rate is $.0879. I take it this the same sort of thing as like living in Texas were fuel might be $2.50 a gallon and I pay $3.99.

As far as HSC. I just programed the #8 button on my dash and push it anytime the battery falls below the 75% mark and I know I need the extra distance.

I find this a curious problem, since I drove my i3 for weeks before discovering HSOC and ran the HV battery to zero several times, noticed the Rex turning on, and then (in a few cases) drove up to an hour longer with no problem or error msg other than "battery at zero" and with no apparent loss of performance even on the highway. Now that I know about HSOC, I try to kick it on as soon as the HV battery hits 75% if I think I'll be going far enough to deplete the battery. But not out of worry, just out of a desire to maintain it as a reserve.
