So my daughter accidentally crashed the i3 at school leaving the front bumper scratched and dented. There's this message "Acoustic Pedestrian Protection malfunction" that also appeared. I'm wondering if it's worth attempting to repair the bumper myself or if I should file an insurance claim. Additionally, would it be more cost-effective to simply replace the bumper entirely?

It really depends how extensive the damage is and how skilled you are at vehicle repairs - I doubt anyone here knows either of those things.

But car repair shops have been doing bumper repairs for years, so it's a well-known skill. Probably best bet would be to get a quote from a body shop and take it from there.

The acoustic warning module is under the front of the bumper - it may be damaged, or it might just be the wiring that's broken/disconnected.
