Anyone found another tire that fits??

This is for both recent posts. I googled widest wheel on 5.5j and it came back with 195. I haven’t tried googling 5.0. The i3s uses 5.5j on the front. You should check first.

Mild wintery conditions are here again in the UK, and I want 4 season tyres on my 2019 i3 BEV with default rims (front 5Jx19, rear 5.5Jx19). I can't find any for the rear wheels. Default size would be 175/60R19, but none produce in this size an 4 season tyre. My option would be to put:
- 155/70R19 tyre on the rear 5.5J rim
- 195/55R19 tyre on the rear 5.5J rim
or to purchase 5J alloys to the rear axle too and having a square setup (155/70R19 on all). But this option is a lot of £££.

Would you put 195 tyres on a 5.5J rim? Theoretically it fits.

I had no ego issue with the 155 tyre at rear but the rim edges are at risk when parking then.

This is a specialty car. It has specialty tires. It's just a fact that i3 owners need to accept and deal with. This topic has been discussed ad-nauseam and clearly the answer always comes back to one or two types of tires.

The car eats tires it seems. Which isn't ideal but it is what it is. I personally wouldn't put cheaper tires on this car even if they were available.

For owners who need to change their tires every year....that's alarming and really not reasonable even with this car. Something else is amiss in a case like that.

I agree with many of the statements here. It has specialty tires. The car eats tires. I would not put cheaper tires on it. Yearly tire buying IS alarming. What I disagree with is that we (i3 owners) should just accept it. I absolutely love my i3s. The ONE thing that BMW messed up is the wheel/tire package. So I changed it. Not sure if I'm going to get 65K out of the back tires unless I reduce the toe-in that is standard, but they will last a whole lot longer than my brand new set of summers that were spent in about 9 months. I mostly drive easy with an occasional fast takeoff and more rarely, a fast/hard corner. The OEM tires should last longer than that but they don't.

Some folks I'm sure won't like a little tire out farther than the fender, but I tell you the pros far outweigh the cons. My i3s basically feels and reacts like any normal 3000 lb car now.

Just got four new tyres for my i3S and there were no alternatives to the Bridgestone Ecopias. I live down south so not too much of an issue having "summer" tyres but they cost over £700 which is crazy money for such small rubber (it's not much less than I paid for four tyres on my McLaren!).

FYI Costco UK have Michelin E Primacy in 175/60 R19 and 155/70 R19 for £152 each including fitting

They also have Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 175/60 R19 for £147 fitted (and £100 off if four bought)
