BMW OE battery from the dealer cost me 180 for local pickup 2 months ago, roughly the same as REMY after shipping. I was thinking the amazon engerizer originally but I don't like it does not have the vent. So BMW battery it is for me. Pretty fresh when I got the battery too, maybe 2 months old, tops.

I paid just under 100 GPB for OEM from bmw dealer 01 2024, don't knock them ;)

See my earlier post. The Energizer does have a vent.

Unfortunately, we don't have such favorable pricing in the US. As previously mentioned, our going rate for the OEM battery is about $180, which currently equates to ~ £143GBP. Quite expensive for such a small battery.

The height of the Moseworth battery is ~0.2" taller than the OEM battery just as the LFP battery that I installed. To be able to install the battery hold-down bracket, I had to remove the pad on the underside of the top horizontal section of this bracket. I stuck this pad on the inside of vertical section to tighten up the fit for this battery that's not as thick as the OEM battery. Did you have similar fit problems?
Exactly how I did it. Thought I was some kind of genius for figuring it out. LOL

That’s good to hear 👍🏻
Which group was that?, I’ve got two i3’s coming up to that time and was apprehensive to ask my local, Stratstone, as to the cost 😬

What do you mean, “ coming up to that time”? Is there a typical 12v battery lifespan in the UK?

Re fitting a Bluetooth battery monitor, do these not flatten the battery quicker as they’d be transmitting all of the time?

The draw is almost insignificant. I have not measured it but I've been using one for 2 years now and the car can sit for days and days with no discernible difference in voltage. There are very small loads from the car while it is off that probably draw way more over time.

This is my experience as well. Its manufacturer told me that it samples the 12V system voltage every 5 minutes unless its connected to its smartphone app when it samples every minute (these sample periods might not be correct due to my memory). So it's not doing much most of the time.

I am in the UK and, from personal experience, I really do recommend replacing the 12v battery after 3 years - 4 at the most.

Any way I can check on if mine has been replaced? Car is just 4 years old and only mine for the last few weeks.
Look at the date code on the battery. Alohaart (maybe others) have posted some pics of what this looks like. You might search around the forums a little, it's still early in the morning for him . . . 5-ish something I think . . . but he'll probably reply with more detailed info if you haven't had any luck after a while.

This is what to look for on a LHD car. The date stamp is next to the Negative Terminal. If your car is RHD, the battery position would be on the opposite side of the car and might not look like this. The date stamp in this case means 13th Week of 2017. Only original batteries have the stamp. Replacement batteries would only have a sticker on top of the battery some place.
