AC foot vent only

Only foot vent blowing air. Selector shows different vents selected but still only foot vent. Ready to get into dash to find faulty relay but would like the benefit of your experience to zero in on culprit. Thanks

Hi , I too had the foot vents blowing only on a 2020 i3 and yes the other vents started working again by itself after several months . However looking through the service history the previous owner had a new stepper motor replaced (does not specify on BMW dealer paperwork which motor ) just within UK warranty period at 35 months old due to lack of airflow to windscreen . The car had not been used much for around 2 months prior to purchase so I am guessing maybe something to do with the 12 v battery getting low on power ? Everything else electrically on the car worked ok whilst the vents to the screen and face vents were inoperative . I have seen this same problem occasionally pop up on other forums where the vents start working ok again by themselves. The BMW dealer in the Uk who replaced the stepper motor originally said that as it was a warranty claim they do not offer a guarantee on warranty work and they would charge again to investigate ! Anyway fingers crossed all the vents carry on working

Hi, your report matches with mine, this car is also new to me and was at least 2 months without being driven.
I don't know if it had already this behavior when I bought it or it appeared after as I like to drive with the window open and usually ignore the vent until the weather is too cold which wasn't the case.
I have already tested the 12v battery which turned ok but it already have 4 years...
Thank you a lot for your input, fingers crossed it won't happen again to you and mine start working by themselves.
