I'm having the exact same problem but haven't figured out the cause either. Sometimes -- but very rarely -- is does lower a little bit on opening the door but then doesn't close it when I shut it so I have to turn on accessories mode to manually raise it. I gotta watch carefully, because when it...
If the car cools properly when preconditioned, it's seems unlikely there's a hardware problem with the cooling . . . Have you made sure the light on the A/C button is lit and stays lit? I've had the same problem where the remote preconditioning works but the air from the vents starts warming up...
I've seen this too. First time I saw the error message it looked pretty dire compared to the actual seriousness of the situation. I initially thought the ACC was broken.
I'm pretty sure that it's the "waiting for GPS lock" indicator -- although "Earth Has Been Cancelled" would be a good title for a Sci-Fi anthology show episode.
Look at the date code on the battery. Alohaart (maybe others) have posted some pics of what this looks like. You might search around the forums a little, it's still early in the morning for him . . . 5-ish something I think . . . but he'll probably reply with more detailed info if you haven't...
When I buy a new battery, the retailer charges me extra for not trading in an old battery. The lead is valuable, so don't let anyone charge you to recycle it, they're making money on each one.
Is the cooling fan running full-blast while you're attempting to charge? When that happened to me it was a coolant pump failure, in my particular case to to wiring damaged by squirrels.
If the neighborhood social media scuttlebutt is right, the latest thing all the "cool thieves" are doing around here is busting out car windows and stealing clip-on garage door openers. The idea is to come back later and burglarize the empty house. My i3 has the integrated g/d opener and not...
Since an old, dead 12V battery can cause all kinds of seemingly unrelated problems, I wouldn't pay any of your good money to "investigate" anything unless the problem remains after battery replacement. And at any rate, even if your battery was merely pining for the fjords, at its age it would've...
I've been hit by a car. The concussion caused personality changes for several months. Don't know if the driver made a habit of driving with care or not, I don't have any recollection of the actual incident.
I've only replaced one battery in my i3 and that was at the dealer since I'd waited too long to shop around, but other members have had a lot more experience and will be able to give more relevant advice soon.
If the 12V battery starts to fail, you can get all kinds of seemingly unrelated errors ("Drive Train Malfunction!" "ABS Malfunction!" "Self Destruct Sequence Initiated!" etc.) on the screen and a car that possibly can't be started. There aren't any specific warnings about the battery about to...
