Hello!

I got to test drive the i3 at the Vancouver Auto Show last weekend and while the guy from BMW Canada answered all my questions, I have one unresolved one.

I meant to ask but forgot to, but during my exploration of the car, I notice an electrical connection of sorts near the back of the upper chamber of the center console. Anyone know what the connectors are for?

Other than that, the car was a true pleasure to drive and has rocketed to the top of my list for my next car.

Thanks guys!

Alex

Hi Alex,

that is the connector for the snap-in adapter for your phone. With this adapter, your phone is connected to your onboard entertainment system and external antenna.
Adapters sold seperately :)

I have a box of adaptors since 2006 3 different cars and 4 different phones. They used to be reasonable. I see the next one is £147 for the iPhone 5 adapter. Almost getting more expensive than a phone. I also see we can have a 4G LTE wifi hub adaptor. May have to recycle the one from the 5 series and rely on Bluetooth.
