$199 down provided you put the $7500 federal + $5000 Atlanta state credits as down payment..

So this obviously assumes that you expect a tax bill of at least $12,500 for 2015...

It's now $129, but still not that good of a deal. Besides the fact they are making you put down $12.5K... If you read the fine print, that offer is based on a Mega they have in stock with heated seats as the only option. That price also does not include GA TAVT, which is going to add another ~$115/month to the payment. So ~$245/month + $12.5k down for a base model Mega with a MSRP around $43K. I'm paying less than that for an almost fully loaded Tera BEV with an MSRP of $51K.

And now that we're in 2015, you wouldn't recoup that federal $7,500 until you file in 2016.

Low monthly payments are enticing bait, but that's all they are.

Or you can adjust your tax withholding to get it back throughout the year.

Not sure if you browsed other GA specific threads on the available deals

You can do better than $199 on a Giga-Bev with all ttl included .

Sounds like you should lease a few at that price. Actually you dont receive the federal rebate of 7500 for leasing...somewhere in the 4800 range if i'm remembering correctly...

Exactly right, the dealer gets the $4800.

My Giga (with DC fast charge option) was $4k down and $240/mo on only a 2 year lease. Didn't have much choice in the matter (or of cars, either), they would have sold it to somebody else. Still I'm happy with my deal.

Fine print at bottom of ad:
24 Month Owners Choice Financing Program with 10,000 miles per year.
OC + Flex is a $7,500 tax credit, which is added in the deal as a residual % point bump. You have to pay it back by the end of your term.

OC+Flex is a bit of financing chicanery. Like the the i3, it confuses calcified dealership employees. It's technically a purchase, which is why you get the full $7,500, but, as with a lease, you can turn in the car at the end of your term and walk away. Or re-up for a new i3. The tax credit on the traditional lease is $4,875. If you have at least a $7,500 tax liability, the OC+Flex can make more financial sense.

So the way I read this deal....

You make $12,500 down payment but presumably recover that from taxes

Pay $129/mon

But at the end you need to pay an additional $7500 to get out of the "lease"

So the total cost is 129 + (7500/24) = 441/mon approximately

I don't know how it works in Georgia, but here in California there would also be 9 or 10% sales tax on the $12,500 plus on the monthlies.

If you pay the $12,500 down there is no $7500 at the end - you paid it up front.
