After lurking here for many months, I finally took the plunge. Thanks for the great info! The lease rates here in the US made it an easy choice, and my dealer was willing to do a good deal on the exact BEV that I wanted. The Driving Assistant was especially nice since I drove home in bumper-to-bumper traffic. It operated perfectly (better than my previous Mercedes E Class). My only quibbles are the lack of power seats and blind spot indicators, but every purchase is a compromise. I do love the fact that I can skip on the fuel (though my other car more than makes up for it), and my garage at work offers free charging. ;)

The i3, if the limitations aren't a deal killer, and if you've got an open mind, it a revolutionary vehicle suitable for a fairly large group of people. 90+% of my daily driving is easily met by the i3. ANd, since my older car was paid for, it fills in the gap. But, since I bought the i3 in June, I've only 'needed' my ICE a couple of times. On one instance, the i3 might have worked, but I didn't feel comfortable being assured of finding an EVSE at the airport, and then having to find one to get home at midnight at the end of the trip. The airport is right about the max round-trip range, and it was just a bit close. ANd, my ICE needed to get the cobwebs out.

Given the two vehicles I have, I prefer driving it around town, but prefer the ICE on longer trips, even if the i3 could manage them.
