Rear Bumper Sill Reccomendations

Hey folks, has anyone seen a rear bumper sill protector for the i3?

My daughter has to take her hockey gear in and out of the back and I already have 2 small paint chips.

I would like one as well. I have a few small chips on mine as well - the paint seems a little brittle on the rear sill.

Drop in to a vinyl wrap joint and get the sill clear wrapped.

I made one for myself...a piece of felt and a piece of medium weight canvas. I ended up buying a piece of felt big enough to fold it with four layers, then sewed the canvas on top along with a couple of tabs to tie to the cargo loops. Cost me about $10 in materials and maybe 1/2-hour labor...I just couldn't see spending that much money for BMW's. I have an ICE recumbent trike that I regularly (well, when we aren't snowed in!) carry in the back to the local bike trail. The roads around here are not bike friendly, so I use the i3 as a bike carrier to get to where it is safe. I end up with about 2-3K miles a year on the thing...helps to keep my weight down.

I've written to RGM to see if they will be making one for the i3, haven't heard back yet.

I have an RGM rearguard on my E91 and its a nice quality part.

The WeatherTech Boot Liner looks good. Do you also have their FloorLiner and if so, in the front of the car, is it a single moulding across the full width? Are you able to buy a full set ? It is not clear on their UK website. Any additional photos would be appreciated.

Yes, I have the complete set (front, rear, luggage compartment). The front and rear are each a single piece.

I think I read somewhere that they are not yet available in RHD for the UK, though the company is working on them. I'll try to dig up a couple of pictures.

They do fit great.

the installer that wrapped my car also applied a clear bra to the front and to the rear bumper to protect from scratches. I don't know what the product is but glad I did it to prevent scratches. If you find a local shop that provides a clear bra they can probably take care of the bumper

I had a spare protector from my old Nissan Leaf. Fits OK, just sticks on. I suggest visit a Nissan dealer and purchase one.

The BMW part is a padded fabric that first, ties to the rear luggage tiedowns, and you fold it out when loading/unloading things. I made one out of felt and canvas for about $10. The BMW one retails for about $80 if I remember correctly, and fits multiple models. I use it when loading/unloading my folding trike at the bike trail...works well, was cheap and took me maybe 30-minutes to make.
