I like it and have ordered a car. What is annoying is that BMM invests a billion euros but can't get the technology behind its configurator to run smoothly and it only contains limited info. Whats the point of launching a bit of the spec when you cant find out what is included in each package e.g. in the UK called Standard, Loft, Lodge and Suite. Also no details on options or the cost of them! Obviously pricey and they don't want that to come out at launch!

Poor execution of launch materials in my opinion and I would like to buy one!

Yes, I'm rather disappointed that the "configurator" just lets you change the colour and the wheels....no info above base car, no prices ..... the "highly configurable" car seems anything but at the moment.

There is more information about what is available spec wise in the US than the UK and the car isn't available there until Q2 2014!

The interiors look great in pictures ..... but cream carpets for a car in the UK...... do they know how much it rains here?

Ditto Cream steering wheel .... I really hope you have the option to change that... it will look grubby very quickly (just look at a 2 year old Fiat 500 with Cream steering wheel!) .....and don't me started about that b*****y Blue EVERYWHERE!
I noticed the Orange i3 in NY DIDN'T have Blue stripes on the outside.... so I really hope it is a delete option.

When the configurator is working properly hopefully we'll see.

Not sure if these are official but here goes.
Loft World = £1000
Lodge World = £1500
Suite World = £2000

20" wheels = £1080
19" wheels = £680

Front parking sensors / rear camera / Park Assist = £790
Harman Kardon = £640
Glass Sunroof = £780
Led – head lights = £710
Driving Assist Package = £790
Winter package heated seats / pre heating battery / heat pump = £260

Upgrade to Professional Sat Nav FREE with early order ..... so Gaz26 you've got your "off plan" upgrade!

With Rex and my min options for the car comes in about £35k
If I want 20" wheels and full Leather its £36k

I not sure ....... having not seen the car yet ..... that does seem a bit steep.

We'll see.

Well done for finding this out. Looks a bit expensive. Also just been looking at BMW financing options on this car, they only seem to offer a monthly rental. So BMW select finance doesnt appear to be an option hence no PCP with ability to buy the car for a low residual value at the end. Before the government grant their finance costs on a base vehicle seem to equate to a residual value of c30% after 3 years

Yes that's what I worked out too - but I worked it out wrong I forgot each monthly payment includes VAT at 20% - that makes a big difference.

Just did a quick calc and the residual comes out at 57% after 3 years and 24k miles for i3 Rex Suite World. I'll show my calcs when a have a mo .......... but if BMW can offer that as a PCP then I'm in.

Update.........

Silly me I forgot to include the initial payment so that makes the residual 47% which I suppose is more realistic / business savvy.

This is how I got that figure.

Base car plus rex plus Suite World = £30,830
Lease is £480 PM = approx. £403 + VAT per month
£403 x 36 = approx. £14,500
£14,500 buys you £13,200 of money at 7% over 36 months
so take £3,000 + £13,200 (£16,200) off the cost of i3 Rex Suite = £14,630 residual = 47%

This type of lease/contract hire only seems to work if you can claim back VAT. For £480 pm you can get a 335I! I spoke to BMW and they say it will be available on a PCP type contract. It's frustrating BMW haven't got the information out yet. I see in Norway they have full price and spec lists. Seems BMW UK slow off the mark.

I heard UK dealers can spec cars next week??

The easiest way I've found is to post the link as a URL using the button on the edit page.

It will be very interesting to see what other markets pay.

Remember that EVs are tax and VAT extempt in Norway

Also remember this about the Norwegian car market;

1. Cars are HEAVILY taxed, my 09 325d had a list price with tax of uk£80.000
2. The Nissan Leaf has been one of the best selling small hatches this year
3. EVs don't pay for toll roads or parking in public spaces

EVs has been made highly popular due to this. The I3 would cost closer to uk£50.000 if it was taxed as fossil fuel cars here in Norway.
