I have had the i3 3 days now and I am very happy indeed :D

I decided to go for my company salary sacrifice scheme which provides servicing, tyres and insurance as this was the most tax efficient and best financial option. 3 months from order the i3 was delivered on a trailer by BMW Spire London to my home ready to go.

Background is that I was amazed with EV technology and purchased a Renault Zoe for my wife in May 2015, had a free fast homecharger (Mennekes Type 2) installed by Chargemaster UK which is fed from our solar panels. 5 months later after no fuels costs and only £1.90 a day to charge at home or less I went looking for an EV for me.

I have a weekly commute of 160 miles from Shropshire to London. I then charge the car at the research park for free daily where I work during the week and also charge at a local hotel for free in the evenings. The weekly commute has many motorway service station fast charge options depending on the traffic.

So week 1 and I love the peace and quiet of the drive and have Chill radio playing ;)

Welcome to the club ! do you stop to fast charge en route or REx on.

I personally would use the Hold soc on the motorway until I was in EV range when I don't want to stop.

Thank you I have tried various fast charge and hold SOC and using Rex during my first week just to make sure everything is working fine.
