Need to replace outer door skin.

I have a 2014 i3 Rex and the right rear door has a cracked/damaged door skin. The door functions properly and there doesn't seem to be any underlying damage.

The dealership wants $4K to replace it which is ridiculous. The panel itself looks to be about $225 when purchased online.

Has anyone replaced their outer door pieces? I can't find any definitive answer as to whether they come painted or not (my car is ionic silver metallic).
I've seen YouTube videos of the removal of the door panel, but not installing a new part. I've heard that there's a special tool involved and I understand that I'll have to buy the clips to reinstall the panel, but no specifics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not tackled this myself, but this should help. Plastic trim tools are probably a must, plus invest in new plastic clips.

I doubt the parts come painted, as a body shop may opt to blend on adjacent panels then lacquer the whole thing.

A good friend of mine has recommended what he considers a very fair body shop (unlike my last attempt), so I'm going to try them next week.

Should the price still be a bit too high, I'll buy the parts and get them painted.

If you need to get parts painted, I have used this place located in Colorado. I had them do a pair of mirror covers as a test and they are fantastic. They won't do hoods but everything else seems to be on the table.

They use NEW OEM parts from the BMW dealer and their prices seem fair. I am getting the front bumper piece for my I3S, the black portion which surrounds the little fog lights.
