Anyone having issues getting charge status or vehicle controls from myBMW app? Mine stopped responding last night I think it’s just a temporary app thing wondering if anyone else experiencing it.

Your subscription expired. The app will still do basic Remote functions without a subscription. It will not show charging status or vehicle status though. They changed this earlier this year and it is very confusing for people who are not aware of it

I just checked mine again. I have no active subscription, but used to be able to send addresses to the car's nav via the app anyways. Today it would not send the address after several attempts so I am going to assume it is an issue with BMW Servers. All app data has to go through BMW Servers before it gets to the car

The My BMW app knows that I started charging at 09:00 HST/15:00 EDT but it hasn't been able to update the charge status since. I have the Smart Charge Hawaii smartphone app that I have authorized to access our i3 via its cellular data connection. It also displays charge status but has been unable to do so today. Both apps rely on BMW servers to provide information about our i3, so these servers must be down.

Additional info: I received an email notification that my charging session had completed with a fully-charged battery pack yet the My BMW app is unable to retrieve this information. So BMW's servers aren't totally off-line. Some functionality continues to work. The servers obviously knew that charging had completed and sent me a notification. However, the part of the servers that communicates with the My BMW app remains down.

this has to do with hurricane Helene affecting server locations. There is a post about it on BMW website if you try to log in to your account.

I noticed my app also stopped showing an actual picture of my i3 Rex yesterday evening. Presumed it was server related, as things had been working fine up until then. Glad to have corroboration here on the forum.

I don't have any new data in my HomeAssistant logs since 7:13 AM CDT yesterday, so in metric time BMW servers (at least North America) have been MIA since around 12:13 UTC on September 27.

edited because typing is hard!

I called BMW (Roadside assistance) on Friday Sept 27 when the app failed to unlock the i3s. They said that the app was down and didn't know when it would be fixed. I tried it today (Sunday Sept 29) and it worked.

On a unrelated note I bought a WOKEBY Trunk extension this month and love it. Yes it is pricey, but the room that I gained in the trunk moving things to the REX-cavity is wonderful.

Yep, back on line here in Hawaiʻi.

I agree! Creates a hidden storage area that prying eyes would not be able to see.
