Looks like new model starts 7/16

Based on the chart on Bimmerpost showing USA models, the 2016 i3 starts production 11/15 and ends 06/16. SO, it appears somewhere after July 2016, they'll be producing a new version of the i3 as a model year 2017. That's all I can garner from that chart, it has no other details of what may be coming, all it shows is start of production and end of production for the 2016 model years for USA (and I'd assume the rest of the world, but they get additional models and engine configurations). So, other than moving around options/standard features, don't expect anything really new for about 18-months + probably about 2 more to fill the pipelines to the dealer network.

Just seen that via the i3 Facebook group, with presumably a 2015/16 model update with minor ( enhanced) spec changes and possibly different colour choices the usual sort of mid life updates.
