Hook iPhone to CarPlay and i3 hotspot simultaneously

Does anyone have a set of instructions on how to hook up an iPhone so it will connect to a 2020 I3 for CarPlay and also connect to the installed WiFi hotspot, that is active, so I can use car play and stream music using the hotspot? My CarPlay setup keeps using WiFi for the car play so the hot spot is dropped. Thanks.

I have the same ‚wish‘ . Any solution to that?
Associating a client (like the iPhone) with two WLANs simultaneously is hardly seen, but should be possible in unix-like systems. Although providing the i3’s hotspot internet access through the CarPlay WLAN might be easier to accomplish.
Routing between the two networks? Hm, just thinking…

Wireless carplay requires the wifi connection for more data throughput. You should be able to use wired carplay to keep the wifi connection for other things.

Wired carPlay does not work in the i3. CarPlay needs Wifi, unfortunately.

Really? I thought it worked. I have not played around with it much because my wife is the one with the iPhone.
