Today i replaced the HV cable from EME to the heater.

Very straight forward, just removed the plastic side skirt, front wheel and rear inner splash panel and boot floor.

There are two ways to remove. Either cut all the cable ties and fit new ties, or pull each cable tie base from the body using a trim tool (the metal cranked one , common on eBay worked very well)

Fiddly fitting new cable (took plenty of pictures of route and clips) but all in and so far tested OK with no fault (not had chance to drive it yet though!).

One thing to be careful about is do not close the tailgate with the 12V battery disconnected

What I did notice with cable is the heater end plug is corroded on exposed metal (contacts inside looked fine).

looking carefully on heater there are marks indicating possible leakage from the heater onto the socket!

Had a look on eBay for a replacement, but they all showed the same, but a lot worse, staining or even corrosion, so may be a common issue. Only the new heaters (£700+) looked clean.

So tomorrow, before driving, I am going to clean and wrap the whole connector with self amalgamating tape, to help prevent any further issues with small leakage onto the plug.

All in all a relaxed 4 hour job and very easy with basic tools.
