Dipstick marks?

I just checked my oil level for the first time tonight. The manual says the level should be between the marks. What marks? My cars dipstick has a skinny section with no marks. Anyone know what the minimum and maximum levels are supposed to be?

just like dipstick for any other car. Wipe off the stick, look for any marks or twists to indicate min/max.

Yes I did read your post. Does your dipstick look like the parts manual picture here?

If so, the oid should be in the smooth area between the knobs of the tip.

Sparky, you're looking for a level between the arrows, after the T-REX oil is at operating temperature (end of the drive).

My old VW TDI had a similar dipstick, and the indicator was orange plastic.
