SFBMWCODING.com is the place to go

Adrian has been doing this for years

He coded my 2015 i3 Rex to Hold state of charge at 24% or less
Enabled AM radio and gast tank back to 2.4 gallons. Took 20 mins

Check out his web site He is the go to guy in the Bay Area

Just curious: why did you pick 24% as your REx threshold? The rest of the world uses 75% as does dvdinmotion. I have driven a couple of 500mi days on the REx and it is comforting to have the larger SOC in reserve.

I coded mine (did it myself, was a piece of cake, cable was $20).

10% - auto-turn on.
75% or less - lets me manually turn it on (shortcut to #8 key)

In other words, if i do the 500 mile trip, I'll turn it on at 75% to keep charge there. The only reason i raised minimum from 6% to 10% is due to the fact that i'm an aggressive driver and I noticed that even when the range extender is on, the battery still goes down a couple percents when i step on it, and 6% didn't make me feel very comfortable.

It's been documented elsewhere that changing the hold mode set point only changes the little caret on the dash, but does not actually change the behavior of when REx turns on. It will still come on at 6%.

We r talking about the same thing
I can manually engage the REX when battery is 24% or less Do not have to wait for it to
Auto engage at 6%
