Charge port indicator

A charge port indicator, on the dash, helping me to remember closing the charge port before i drive away....

As you can’t drive away with the cable plugged in I would have thought it unlikely you would forget to close the charging port when unplugging.

Unlikely, but it happens. I've done it several times. The PiP has such an indicator, and it is nice to be reminded that I'm a moron as I drive off with the charging port door wide open.

How about a sprung door.. its held open because your charing plug is in... when the plug is not there is just snaps shut?

I don't think a sprung door pushing on the charging handle all the while it is charging would be a very good idea. Just my two cents worth anyway.

Look in your side mirror it's big enough you should be able to see the door is open easily as it is quite big. :mrgreen:

Obtain a piece of dayglo or brightly coloured material. Attach this to the inside of the charging panel door. Secure in place after charging via a piece of velcro. Make sure it dangles down when you charge. Will attract yours and others attention as it flaps in the breeze? Aircraft style remove before flight tags?

...or just position the EVSE so you'll trip over the charging cable if you try and get in without unplugging!

You can’t drive off with it plugged in. The ‘problem’ here is forgetting to close the charging port…….

Guess what. First time ever I unplug cable, stow it away, and leap into car and drive off........ha ha ha. Forgetting to close......oh what's that in the wing mirror......
