Hi everyone,

First off- I've owned my i3 for a week now and LOVE IT!!

But what I came here to ask, does anyone have any cool uses for the dashboard presets numbered 1-8? I only use mine for GPS locations and dialing a contact.

Any cool/ creative uses to share? Please fire away!

This is an interesting thread. In the UK:
1 Voice directions ON/OFF
2 Split screen ON/OFF
3 Radio 3 FM (DAB is VERY flaky!)
4 Radio 4 FM (ditto)
5 Classic FM
6 N/A
7 N/A
8 REx ON/OFF

The first and last are the most useful for us. I'll add to 6 and 7 when I see what other people use.

So far I have:

1 - Navigate home
2 - Phone Wife
3 - Phone favourite takeaway
4 - Planet Rock
5 - Radio 5 Live (it will not let me store 5 Live Sports Extra)
6 - Local Radio FM
7 - Spare
8 - Rex On/Off

Display off (night driving)
How do you make that one happen?

Choose 'display off' and then press/hold one of the buttons till it beeps?
For what it's worth, highlight 'display off', then press/hold the button.

Hello, I've had my i3REx for a few weeks now, and I'm still learning something new about it everyday.

I really like the ideas here, but am I correct in my understanding that we are limited to programing just eight tings including various radio channels?

It seem odd to me that I cannot program a variety of FM channels when the FM radio is on and have separate Satellite channels saved for when I have the satellite radio playing.

Am I missing something here?

Yes, there should be a presets section in your radio list where you can save many, if not dozens, of FM and satellite stations. The eight buttons above the HVAC are global macros for the car's comfort/convenience ecosystem.

In case you didn't know, if you touch one of the macros, instead of pressing it, you can see a preview of what selection is assigned to it. Also a good idea to back up your custom settings to a USB drive under the Profile setting.

I had found the various (and numerous) presets options in the radio menus, but I guess I'm just a little old school and was expecting to have my radio presets available through these buttons.

I guess its just a matter of thinking about it differently, in that I can now program one button to jump to the radio presets menus and select the one I want there.

BTW, good point about backing up the custom settings, as I don't know what I did, but there's been a couple times that I wiped out the various radio presets that I had saved.

Thanks
