The passenger door glass window of my new i3 was broken in a Costco parking lot and a laptop which was placed on the floor of the passenger seat was stolen. The car was locked. No alarm rang. What could be the issue?

The alarm went off multiple times in my garage when there was movement around the car (I have ordered the glass and yet to get it fixed)

Appreciate feedback from veteran owners of i3. Mine is only month old.

Pressing the lock button twice within 10 seconds disables the interior motion sensors. Did you press it once on locking or maybe twice just to make sure you locked it?

How are you certain that the alarm didn't go off? It does not continue forever.

I parked the car next to the Costco Tire center and there were multiple persons there - I checked with them

Did they notice when the glass was broken? That's a fairly distinct sound. IF not, they may not have heard the alarm, either.
