Blinking red light under mirror

Hi,

There is a blinking red light under the rear view mirror. Is this the alarm? Does it normally blink when the car is locked and closed?

That is part of the alarm system, and yes, it blinks when locked.

also - there is an interior movement sensor that sets off alarm
found out the hard way when I left dog in car - actually someone on this forum told me about it after I wondered how alarm could go off

you can turn it off by hitting the fob lock button within 10 seconds of locking car. I believe red light stays on but does not blink
