Looks like REX not a BEV. Welcome!
Hi John,
Thank you for pointing that out.
You are right, according to
dictionary.com, a BEV is a
"battery electric vehicle: an automobile or other vehicle having an electric motor that is fully powered by batteries."
What prompted me to use the term "BEV" was that I strictly use my car as a pure electric car.
Of the 118,000 km's on the tachometer, probably less than 118 km's were on the REX. I only use the REX as an emergeny aid, and never to extend my range...
I think it was rather unfortunate and environment-unfriendly of BMW to describe the ICE as a range-extender, because people do really use it as such, I hear...
Anyway, you were absolutely right, it's not a BEV because it is not "fully powered by batteries"...
May I be forgiven for using the term "BEV" for i3 is only "propelled" by electric/electric-motor
Kind regards
