Battery Temperature, isn't 20c the sweet spot?

My November update cars seem to target 10C as well for battery preconditioning.

Chevy Bolt begins production “in just a few short months”

You're correct when it comes to typical balloon loans, but not Owner's Choice, which is similar to a lease. Maybe this plan isn't offered in Canada?

Chevy Bolt begins production “in just a few short months”

Your residual is in your BMWFS contract - aside from potential trade-in options, or if you wanted to keep the car, the market value is not relevant with the Owner's Choice plan. The turn-in option is just like a lease.

    Ordered Winter Tires

I'm surprised that this is an issue, but I'm more surprised that anyone at BMW would've told you it was acceptable to install the 155 width tires on the rear wheels. The specs for the 155 width tire options list the acceptable wheel width as 4-5".

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

We would really need to know the specific number for taxes as well, since they vary so much from state to state.

i3 REX Airflow in Passenger Compartment

Agreed - I wish they would add a "Heat" button or something similar, so you could enable/disable it as needed.

    Sound when in reverse.

Thanks Steven! That would make more sense than the brake explanation. Do you have any additional info about the valve/behavior that causes this?
  8. I

Well, that didn't take long! Check engine light is on.

Rob, the November software update resolves many of the CEL issues. Your car should've been upgraded prior to delivery, but since it wasn't, it sounds like it's time for the first service visit.

    3M Crystalline Window Tint installed

Are you expecting to get a different answer here than you got from the numerous responses on the FB group? Instead of using a roll of film that was wide enough, the shop apparently chose to do this and hope you wouldn't notice.

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Good call. Be sure to remove the VIN and any dealer specific codes/etc as well.

    Buy a 2014 or Lease a 2015?

    Are you in GA?

i3 is the absolute most hated car at Public Chargers

They probably don't know about the update - maybe you could mention it to them.

i3 is the absolute most hated car at Public Chargers

This is no longer an issue with the new software update - anyone who's affected by this just needs to visit their dealer to get the November 2015 software. Once that's in place, the car will unlock the connector at 100%.

    Level 3 Home Charger

Prior to Nov 1, 2015, this was only valid in CA. For purchases after Nov 1, it applies to the markets listed here: http://chargenow.chargepoint.com/fast-charging Of course that only applies at NRG (and possibly some Chargepoint) units. We have many L2 NRG stations around town, but every NRG...

    Sound when in reverse.

It will do it even while in Park - the general consensus is that it's an ABS check/test the car does sometimes, but I'm not convinced of that. It's very concerning the first time it happens...I thought something had bumped into my [parked] car. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be an issue.

    Level 3 Home Charger

By the way, there's a DCFC near you in Perry, in case you want to check it out. You'll need the Greenlots app (and an account with them) in order to use it. I suggest trying it at least once so that you're familiar with the process. Location details: http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/66912

    Level 3 Home Charger

No, you would want Level 2 at home. Level 3 isn't really the correct terminology, but he was probably referring to DC Fast Charging. The discussion around Level 2 EVSEs, and which one to buy, comes up almost daily on the main Facebook group, and is discussed often in the local group as well...

i3 REX Airflow in Passenger Compartment

There's an easy workaround for this - while in Eco Pro+, just turn on cruise control. You don't have to set a speed or otherwise activate it - just turning it on will defeat the EP+ limiter.

    Software update / Mileage improvement

My car with a little over 16K miles was just upgraded to the November software, and it went from 17kWh to 19.2kWh usable capacity. That's 8 miles of actual additional range, assuming 4mi/kWh. Not bad for a software update.

    Some coding questions

This is not true - you can code the car no matter which HU is installed. There may be some methods that the various vendors use that are not supported on the basic navigation, but "regular" DIY coding works just fine. Of course the options you're able to enable/disable will vary according to...
