    Top speed limiter removal?

Yes, and you're spot on with 'about 120mph'. BMW runs them at this on test. No, I don't know what the coding change is.

    Pre-conditioning Value vs Cost

Since my post I've preconditioned twice and both times the readings (and kWHrs used) are consistent with a 1kW heater - ambient temperature is 10degC. Anyone got any better / different data?

Travelling to a UK i3 meet

In most developed countries transportation is the largest cause of air pollution. Concern about pollution in city centres is down to NOx concentration but outside of cities the pollution still occurs and the same amount of CO2 occurs wherever it is emitted. Electric charging for country-wide...

BMW i talks about larger EV, increased i3 range in 2016

In this interim upgrade for the i3 it seems to me that 30% range increase would be most likely giving something like 105 miles (90-120).

Does the car still draw current when fully charged?

The car will charge itself fully. Once it's done that if will examine all cells one by one and drain down all the cells to the level of the lowest one. Once it's done that it will charge them all to the defined maximum (never 100%% full).

    Pre-conditioning Value vs Cost

The 1kW heater came from the BMW R&D engineer at the i3 meet last weekend. It's a maximum 1kW. Would be good to have confirmation from others though. Heating the battery on the BEV and the ReX is the same. The heat pump is for the interior. If you're not plugged in then max 2.5kWHrs...

    Pre-conditioning Value vs Cost

If you want to save money on pre-heating the battery then set charging to finish at the same time as you want to depart. The battery heater is one kW but it's turned off during charging because charging already warms the batteries.

    Potential purchase - spec questions

Disengaging cruise control is just matter of pressing the accelerator to where you think it should be for the speed you're doing then when you toggle off the cruise control the transition is smooth. You'll get used to it, I did. If you want Drive Assist then you have to upgrade the interior...

Does the rex required regular or premium fuel?

For the UK, just regular unleaded will do.

Travelling to a UK i3 meet

The i3 gathering in Milton Keynes on Sunday was a great day out. Some 39 cars turned out plus two i8 as well as some of BMW’s i-specialists. (Well done Ross for organising it). As usual we started planning our route (CCS chargers) early - it's about 110-140 miles away depending on the route...

    High jacked

When I took my test drive i3 out for two days I had my phone linked to the car. For a couple of weeks after I regularly checked on the car but resisted the temptation to wind the windows down or to flash the lights. I deleted the app to avoid the temptation after that.

    Regenerative Braking = Motion Sickness

It shouldn't take long for you to adapt to the regenerative braking. Instead of taking your foot off the accelerator and covering the brake just ease off the accelerator gently. The i3 is a far smoother car to drive than an ICE car once you adapt to it.

I need to drive over 150 miles one way routinely - Ideas?

You've captured it correctly and no problem running the ReX for that length of time a couple of times a month.

I need to drive over 150 miles one way routinely - Ideas?

If you code the car then you can turn on the ReX at any time below 75%. Drive the first 25% charge on battery then turn on ReX and run it dry. The car will draw whatever power it needs from the battery so if it demands more than the ReX provides it's no problem because it's there in the...

i3 with tech driving package, leather lowest price paid

Whereabouts in the world are you? My advice would be not to buy leather. It's a must have for an ICE car but, in my view, a must not have in an EV. Leather is often either too hot or too cold meaning more AC than necessary or more seat heating than otherwise. DC Charging a must.

    Defer Rex maintenance cycle

Did you stay in the garage whilst it was chugging away?

Auto Stop Go malfunctions if facing direct sun?

Yes. If the sun is that low either drive it yourself or wait for the sun to go down Disappointing but I'd still rather have the system as it works most of the time.

How many have had the drive train malfunction error?

PipPip - 100% efficient driving - Wao! How about posting a picture of your screen showing that - it will be an inspiration to us all to know that such a thing is possible.

    Reduced Range in Cold Weather

Tom That's very useful and very timely. My own crib-sheet for colder weather gives me the following (temperatures in degC): 15-20 deg C 100% 10-15 and 20-25 95% 5-10 and 25-30 85% 0-5 80% It's England so I don't worry too much about more extreme weather. Grateful for any other comments...

    Eurotunnel CCS chargers

www.ccs-map.eu shows the charger but not who runs it. Brice, one of the contributors on this forum, has set up http://www.i-bmw.fr and may be able to help.
