    Expecting delivery of 2015 i3 REx - Preparing ?

The battery degradation is not a huge concern with Rex. Also, the i3 has battery warranty until 2023/100K miles.

Windshield Replacement Hell (or maybe Heck)

About a grand is what seems reasonable to me! The price is higher just because of the Camera system, my friend did not use that feature so had it Safe-light installed on his non-i3 car for couple hundred bucks. Dealer quoted him about a grand!! There are some videos on youtube and...

    Wiper Blade Speed

Thank you. It's Giga and I do recall that there is button, just didn't know it was rain sensor. I will look at it later today, thank you again!

    Wiper Blade Speed

There is a little rotatory button that increases or reduces the sweep speed, I am noticing that it is not changing the wiper blade speed at all. I.e., Blades are always sweeping even at the lowest speed. In my other cars, at lowest speed wiper blade sweep in every 10-15 seconds. Pushing the...

Possible to use a 427 style rear wheel (53mm offset) on the front ?

Been there but in the end I decided to replace all four tires and save one each front and rear old tires.

How do you use smog test mode for building buffer?

It would not be needed- 1) $36 for a day is still cheaper than charging i3 at EVgo. I have never paid $36 for a economy rental though, corporate rates are much lower. 1.1) You have not considered cost associated with 'wait-time' at EVgo. 2) Difference between your rate $.10/KWh and $.11 is...

Charge delay selection button near the EVSE plug

That would be nice!! I have Philips level 2 charger and it has 4 delay button on it, 2, 4 ,6 and 8 hours.

Something is strange about tesla Model S owners. I am yet to see one car that does not look like to have just come out of a Car wash! I think they make warranty claim on every door ding or rock chip so that might have lead to higher repair rate.

I was specifically talking about charging rates at EVgo, it would probably cost less to rent a ICE car to drive 300-400 miles. :) Now power is so inexpensive in Texas, I have 100% renewable plan at about ~11cents per kw. Non-renewable is even cheaper! I was planning to install solar panels but...

Leasing new 2018 model vs buying 2016 model

Ask the dealer the cost to get it CPO if that's the concern. It should be 2k -$3k. Sometime Dealer try to sell non-cpo/as is since out the door cost is less. Also the car will be under bumper to bumper warranty for 4year/50K miles. If 2016 is sold late in the year, warranty will also be...

    100Kwh i3 battery...

Best to consider the decision in 2020, EVs improvements will accelerate each year exponentially. If you need something now, 2015 REX+code to unlock range extender, they are available for ~$20K while 2017 are expensive and offer slightly more range. EVs are not for everyone until AAA/tow truck...

    i3 s regenerative breaking

I thought it would be weight but looks like there is not a huge difference. 2017 BMW i3/Curb weight - 2,799 to 3,234 lbs 2014 BMW i3/Curb weight - 2,799 to 3,064 lbs Potentially BMW reduced it for some reason.

    Serious i3 Security Problems

What EVman says makes sense, so updates will only be for new i3 models. 4 year refresh cycle will negatively work for these traditional auto makers because of the end-user learning curve becoming steeper and longer as tech is being added to the car at high rate. So when someone will buy a next...

    100Kwh i3 battery...

That is exciting!! They are using IR transmitter to communicate instead of wires! What a brilliant way! Reducing weight, cost, improving reliability. ps. They are not the first though...Was shopping for a floor mop the other day and it was using the same IR transmitter to turn the spray on...
